Men’s Golf Back in Action This Week at The Goodwin

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's golf team will compete this week at The Goodwin, hosted Stanford Golf Course, from Thursday through Saturday.
The Bruins won the team title last season at The Goodwin, a 54-hole stroke play tournament at Stanford University. This year's tournament will run from Thursday, March 26, until Saturday, March 28. Fans can track scoring at The Goodwin by visiting Scoreboard.
The three-day tournament at Stanford will feature 30 collegiate programs, with 10 of those teams currently ranked among the top 40 in the weekly Scoreboard rankings (full rankings here).
In all, this year's field includes 14 collegiate programs currently ranked among the top 50 by Scoreboard. In order, those 14 teams include (19) Georgia Tech, (21) New Mexico, (22) Stanford, (26) Utah, (27) BYU, (28) Long Beach State, (31) San Diego State, (34) UCLA, (36) TCU, (38) Washington, (41) Northwestern, (46) Colorado, (48) Cincinnati and (49) Arkansas Little Rock.
This will mark the fifth of seven spring golf tournaments for UCLA (including the season-culminating Big Ten Tournament). Most recently, the Bruins finished in ninth place out of 15 teams at The Desimone Invitational near San Francisco (March 9-10). UCLA shot 11-under 853 at the par 72 course (Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif.).
Last March, UCLA recorded a final team total of 11-under 829 at Stanford Golf Course to win the team championship. The Bruins finished nine strokes ahead of second-place Colorado (2-under 838). The complete results from last season's event are available here.

Monday's Schedule: Play will begin at 7:00 a.m. (PT) on Thursday. Teams will begin in the morning session (at 7 a.m.) or in the afternoon session, which is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. (PT).
