
Francis/Kwinta Make Final Eight at NCAAs

Tulsa, Okla. - UCLA's Alberto Francis and Kris Kwinta advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships Friday, defeating Harvard's Jonathan Chu/David Lingman, 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 16 at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Francis and Kwinta, a 5-8 seed in the tournament, will face Old Dominion's Zolton Csandi/Izak van der Merwe in Saturday's quarterfinals beginning at 2:30 p.m. (CST). They are bidding to become the Bruins' first NCAA Doubles Champions since Justin Gimelstob and Srdjan Muskatirovic in 1996.
