NCAA Champion Sheena Johnson finished fourth on Wednesday in the 400m hurdles at the Athens Olympic Games with a time of 53.53. The bronze medal winning time was 53.44.

Johnson, running in lane eight, ran out of gas towards the end of the race. Throughout the rounds, she had been in the inside and outside lanes.

"At the seventh hurdle everybody went, but I couldn't keep up," said Johnson. "I was just too tired. It's a little disappointing to miss out on a medal."

Former Bruin Amy Acuff is slated to begin competition on Thursday in the high jump with the preliminaries of that event. The final of the high jump will be on Saturday. Current Bruin Monique Henderson is also scheduled to compete in the 4x400m relay beginning on Friday.
