Bruins Ready to Contend for NCAA Men's Golf Title

The UCLA men's golf team tied for 12th place at the 16th annual Ping/GolfWekk Fall Preview hosted by Loyola College at Caves Valley near Baltimore, MD.

The Bruins posted a final round team score of 293 (+13) and finished with a 54-hole score of 884 (+44). Oklahoma State won the event with a score of 848 (+8), followed by Georgia Tech at 852 (+12) and Georgia at 861 (+21).

Individually for UCLA, senior John Poucher tied for 12th place at 214 (+4) after posting a 71 in the final round. Freshman Kevin Chappell tied for 36th at 221 (+11), followed by teammate Daniel Im, who tied for 56th at 226 (+16). Sophomore Peter Campbell tied for 62nd at 228 (+18) and Chris Heintz finished 65th at 232 (+22).

Oklahoma State freshman Pablo Martin won the event with a three-round total of 206 (-4), beating Matthew Rosenfeld of Texas by two shots.
