The 13th-ranked UCLA men's golf team was in second place entering the final round of the Wells Fargo Invitational, hosted by Chico State at Butte Creek Country Club.

The Bruins posted rounds of 291-285-576 (E) and trailed Division II Cal State Bakersfield by three shots. Cal State Stanislaus was third at 581, followed by fourth place Sonoma State at 583 and Grand Canyon University at 592.

Individually for the Bruins, junior Peter Campbell fired rounds of 69-73-142 (-2) and was in sixth place. Sophomore Craig Leslie (74-70) and junior Chris Heintz (73-71) were tied for seventh at even par 144. Freshman Lucas Lee posted rounds of 75-71-146 (+2) and was tied for 13th place. Sophomore Kevin Chappell was tied for 30th at 150 (+6) after a pair of 75s.

Ryan Thornberry of Cal State Stanislaus was the leader in the clubhouse at three-under par 139 after posting scores of 70-69.

Final round action continues Tuesday.
