LOS ANGELES - Playing its final non-conference match of the regular season, the seventh-ranked UCLA men's tennis team (15-2) dispatched of No. 36 Virginia Commonwealth, 7-0 Wednesday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

With only five healthy players, VCU (9-6) was forced to default the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles positions before the match even began. Needing only one doubles win to claim the point, UCLA's No. 2 team of Philipp Gruendler and Benjamin Kohlloeffel quickly posted an 8-1 victory, giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the match heading into singles play.

The Bruins would take a 3-0 lead not long after, as Kohlloeffel, ranked No. 14 nationally, quickly defeated 13th-ranked Arnaud Lecloerec, 6-0, 6-2 at court No. 1. That win was especially impressive considering Lecloerec recently posted a straight-set victory over Baylor's Benjamin Becker, the defending NCAA Singles Champion.

UCLA's Chris Lam clinched the match for UCLA at court No. 3, registering a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Daniel Lohff. The Bruins' other three singles winners on the day were Alberto Francis, Kris Kwinta and Mathieu Dehaine.

UCLA hosts the Arizona schools next weekend at the LATC.
