
Kristen Maloney Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Maloney won the Pac-10 titles for vault and floor and tied for first on beam and in the all-around, helping UCLA win its 12th Pac-10 team title with a score of 197.1. She was also voted the Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year, making her the ninth consecutive Bruin to win this honor. Maloney earned top marks on vault (9.925), beam (9.95, tied with ASU's Ashley Kelly) and floor (season-high 9.975) and added a 9.85 on bars to finish in a tie for fourth place. In the all-around, Maloney, who is ranked No. 1 in the nation, and freshman teammate Tasha Schwikert, who is ranked No. 2 in the nation, tied for first with scores of 39.7.
This is Maloney's second UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
