UCLA sophomore Tiffany Joh captured her first collegiate golf title with a sudden death victory and the Bruins finished second as a team in the 21st Pac-10 Women's Golf Championship at the Broadmoor Golf Club near Seattle.

Joh, the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur Publinks champion, birdied the 72nd hole to force a tie with Arizona State's Anna Nordqvist at 218 (+2). Nordqvist had posted a 78 (+6) after relinquishing a four-stroke lead in the final round. In the playoff, both players made pars at the 10th hole, but at the 18th Nordvist missed a birdie putt, while Joh birdied the hole a second time to capture the title. Joh, who posted a 74 (+2) on Wednesday, became the third UCLA player to win the conference individual crown.

In the team race, UCLA posted a final round score of 311 (+23) to finish second with a 54-hole total of 915 (+51). Arizona State won the conference title with a three-round score of 897 (+33). USC was third at 921 (+7), followed by Arizona at 923 (+59) and fifth-place Cal at 926 (+62). Stanford finished sixth at 935 (+71), followed by Washington at 938 (+74), Washington State at 944 (+80), Oregon at 972 (+108) and Oregon State at 982 (+118).

UCLA's runner-up finish clinched the Lexus Gauntlet title in the year-long competition with USC. The Bruins have won the Gauntlet three times in the six-year history of the series.

UCLA freshman Sydnee Michaels tied for 15th at 231 (+15) and senior Hannah Jun finished 18th at 232 (+16). Junior Maiya Tanaka posted a 76 (+4) in the final round and placed 20th at 234 (+18). Sophomore Ryann O'Toole tied for 32nd at 242 (+26).

In the all-conference balloting, Joh was named to the All-Pac-10 first-team for the second straight year. Jun was named to the second team and O'Toole earned honorable mention honors.
