No. 14 Women’s Golf Places Seventh at PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX – The No. 14 UCLA women's golf team shot a 7-over 295 in the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course on Wednesday to finish seventh at 10-over 874 in the 16-team field.
No. 2 USC, at 23-under 841, won the team title by nine strokes over runner-up and tournament host No. 23 Arizona State. Cal State Fullerton's Davina Xanh claimed individual medalist honors at 8-under.
Jennifer Seo and Jenny Lee each posted top-20 finishes, tying for 18th at even-par 216. Lee, who started on No. 6, carded UCLA's lowest round of the day with a 1-under 71 and finished with four birdies.
Seo has now logged four consecutive top-20 finishes this spring while Lee logged her fifth on the year.
Senior Meghan Royal climbed five spots on the leaderboard with a 1-over 73 in the final round to finish tied for 28th overall.
Next Up
UCLA concludes its regular-season schedule at the Huntington Bank Collegiate, hosted at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, from April 6-7. The Bruins will then compete in the Big Ten Championship from April 24-26.

UCLA shot a 6-over 294 in the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course on Tuesday, slipping one spot into sixth place in the 16-team field.
The Bruins (+3, 579) trail first-place USC (-24, 552) by 27 strokes entering Wednesday's final round, which is scheduled for a 7 a.m. PT shotgun start.
Junior Jennifer Seo (-3) remains in the top 10, sitting in a tie for eighth after posting a 2-over 74 in the second round. USC's Catherine Park (-10) leads the individual standings with a four-shot advantage.
Senior Meghan Royal recorded UCLA's low round of the day with an even-par 72, opening with a bogey-free front nine that included one birdie.

The Bruins were one of five teams to finish under par in the first round. No. 2 USC holds an eight-stroke lead over Baylor at 17-under. USC freshman Jasmine Koo leads the individual standings at 6-under 66, one shot clear of the field.
Junior Jennifer Seo paced UCLA with a career-low 5-under 67 and is tied for second place entering Tuesday's second round.
The round marked Seo's fourth under-par score of the season and her second round in the 60s. She opened at 2-over through three holes before playing the rest of the round bogey-free with seven birdies.
Sophomore Jen Lee also finished in the top 10, carding a 2-under 70.
Freshman Kacey Ly and senior Meghan Royal are tied for 37th at 2-over 74.
UCLA begins second-round play Tuesday at 7 a.m. PT.
