No. 14 Women's Golf Finishes in Fifth Place at Big Ten Championships

GLENDALE, Calif. – The No. 14-ranked UCLA women's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place, along with Illinois, out of 18 total teams at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday at Oakmont Country Club.
As a team, UCLA shot 33-over 873, tied with Illinois and just one stroke behind fourth-place Indiana (32-over 872). USC won the tournament (4-over 844), followed by second-place Ohio State and third-place Purdue. Trailing UCLA and Illinois were seventh-place Penn State, eighth-place Michigan State and ninth-place Oregon.
Freshman Kacey Ly moved into a tie for 14th place, having shot even par (70) on Saturday and 1-under 69 on Sunday. Ly finished the tournament among the top 15 golfers.
Senior Meghan Royal (T-22) shot 7-over 77 on Sunday after having carded 1-under 69 on Friday and 3-over 73 on Saturday.
Sophomore Jen Lee moved (T-25) moved into the top 25 on Sunday, shooting even par (70) on Saturday and Sunday. Freshman GaEun Athena Yoo (T-38) carded 4-over 74 on Sunday, while junior Jennifer Seo shot 6-over 76 in the final round.
USC's Jasmine Koo won the individual medal, carding 3-under 207 through the three-day tournament.
UCLA improved upon its finish from last season's Big Ten Conference Championship, recording a seventh-place finish one year ago in Maryland.
The Bruins improved from their first round, shooting 7-over 287 on Saturday and 9-over 289 on Sunday to move into a tie for fifth place. UCLA was in 13th place on Friday evening and in eighth place after two rounds on Saturday.
The 2026 NCAA women's golf selection show for the upcoming NCAA Championships will take place on Wednesday, April 29, at 1 p.m. (PT). The qualifiers for this year's tournament will be split into six regional sites. The NCAA regionals are scheduled to take place from Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13.

UCLA Moves Up to Eighth Place at Big Ten Championships in Glendale

The Bruins moved up the leaderboard and into eighth place, out of 18 teams, through the second round at the Big Ten Championships on Saturday at Oakmont Country Club.
UCLA shot 7-over 287 on Saturday afternoon, a 10-stroke improvement from the team's 17-over 297 finish on Friday. UCLA stands just three strokes away from seventh-place Oregon (+21, 581) and 10 strokes behind sixth-place Indiana (+17, 571). The Bruins were in 13th place on Friday evening, at the conclusion of the first round.
Glancing at the individual leaderboard, senior Meghan Royal carded 3-over 73 on Saturday to stay among the top 15 performers. Royal shot 1-under 69 on Friday and has compiled a score of 2-over 143 through 36 holes. Royal is tied with three others golfers in 11th place, heading into Sunday's final round.
Freshman Kacey Ly shot even par (70) on Saturday. She's currently tied in 32nd place, having carded 7-over 147 through both days.
Freshman GaEun Athena Yoo finished 4-over 74 in the second round after having carded 5-over 75 on Friday. She will enter Sunday's third round in a tie for 43rd (9-over 149). Through both rounds, UCLA's Jennifer Seo and Jen Lee have each shot 10-over 150. Lee finished at even par (70) on Saturday in Glendale.
The three-day Big Ten Championships will resume on Sunday, April 26. UCLA will be back in action on Sunday at approximately 8 a.m. (PT) from the first hole.
For the second-consecutive season, three hours of live coverage from Sunday's final round of action will air live on the Big Ten Network. Coverage will begin on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (PT), anchored by Rick Pizzo, Eric Ciotti and Emma Carpenter.

Bruins in 13th Place Out of 18 Teams After First Round of Action

The Bruins finished in 13th place out of 18 teams through the opening round of the Big Ten Championships on Friday, hosted at Oakmont Country Club.
Senior Meghan Royal finished in a tie for sixth place after the first round, shooting 1-under 69. Royal totaled five birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey.
As a team, UCLA carded 17-over 297 on Friday. Only seven strokes are currently separating the seventh through 13th-place teams. The Bruins stand just one stroke shy of 12th-place Michigan and two strokes behind Washington and Iowa (tied for 10th place).
USC concluded the opening round in the lead, at 3-under 277. Illinois and Ohio State are tied in second place, having shot 2-over 282.
Freshman GaEun Athena Yoo shot 5-over 75, while junior Jennifer Seo finished 6-over 76 on Friday. Freshman Kacey Ly carded 7-over 77 and sophomore Jen Lee finished the opening round 10-over 80.
Royal was one of five golfers to have finished in sixth place (1-under 69) and currently stands four strokes shy of the individual lead (Illinois' Anna Ritter, at 5-under 65).
The three-day Big Ten Championships will resume on Saturday, April 25. UCLA will be back in action on Saturday at approximately 9:20 a.m. (PT) from hole 10.
