UCLA Begins Play at NCAA Tallahassee Regional Monday

LOS ANGELES – The No. 3 seed UCLA women's golf team will compete at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club from Monday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 13. The Bruins will compete against 11 programs in the Regional, needing to finish fifth or better to advance to the NCAA Championships.
UCLA is making its 36th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bruins have earned a postseason berth in each of head coach Alicia Um Holmes' three seasons at the helm. In her first year (2023-24), UCLA placed fourth at the NCAA Las Vegas Regional and went on to finish runner-up at the NCAA Championships.
The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual on a non-advancing team (six individuals total) from each of the six NCAA Regionals sites will advance to compete in the NCAA Championships to be played May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Bruins have history at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, tying for second in their most recent visit in Spring 2022.

UCLA has won eight NCAA Regional titles, most recently in 2014 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. Eight different Bruins have clinched medalist honors 10 times at an NCAA Regional. The last UCLA player to do so was Zoe Antoinette Campos at the 2024 Las Vegas Regional hosted at Spanish Trail Country Club.

UCLA finished in a tie for fifth place, along with Illinois, out of 18 total teams at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, April 24, at Oakmont Country Club. As a team, UCLA shot 33-over 873, tied with Illinois and just one stroke behind fourth-place Indiana (32-over 872). Freshman Kacey Ly moved into a tie for 14th place, having shot even par (70) on Saturday and 1-under 69 on Sunday. Ly finished the tournament among the top 15 golfers, leading all Bruins.
