Lee, Ly and Royal Earn All-Big Ten Accolades
April 30, 2026 | Women's Golf
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sophomore Jen Lee and freshman Kacey Ly on the No. 15 UCLA women's golf team earned All-Big Ten First Team honors, the conference office announced Wednesday. Senior Meghan Royal was also named to the Second Team.
Ly was also tabbed to the Big Ten's inaugural All-Freshman Team. She was the only Big Ten freshman to also earn First Team accolades. Ly was also picked as the Bruins' Sportsmanship Award recipient.
Ly has earned three Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors in her debut season, tied for the most in the conference (with Purdue's Luana Valero). She has put together a stellar spring, recording four top-five finishes in six events. Ly leads the Bruins with four top-five results this season and holds a 71.9 scoring average during the spring schedule.
Lee has enjoyed a breakout 2025-26 campaign since joining UCLA as a transfer in the offseason. Entering the NCAA Tournament, Lee is the Bruins' team leader in scoring average (72.4), rounds under par (16), rounds in the 60s (7) and birdies (107). The Osan, South Korea, native recorded UCLA's only individual medal this season when she won the Windy City Collegiate Classic in her first NCAA event as a Bruin.
Royal has posted a 72.6 scoring average and four top-20 finishes during her final collegiate campaign. Her most impressive result of the season came at the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 17-19) where she led the team with a seventh-place finish in a field of 100 competitors. Royal has steadied her play entering the postseason, finishing within the top 30 in each of her last five events.
The Big Ten will announce the conference's yearly award winners after the conclusion of the NCAA Championships.
