NCAA Super Regionals - Game 2 Quotes

Georgia Head Coach Lu Harris-Champer
(opening statement) "It's not the way we wanted to end the season, but on the day I thought Sarah (McCloud) pitched outstanding, keeping her composure and was able to get outs. I'm extremely proud of our team's heart and our seniors. Our seniors have been fantastic for us all year and I'm extremely proud that they are Georgia Bulldogs."

(on the senior class) "All three of these ladies have had a fantastic impact on the program. They play with heart and they go after everything for their team."

Georgia Senior Second Baseman Sojourner Moody
(on getting to the Super Regionals) "This year I thought we had a great chance. We played great ball all year and this was the opportunity that we were really looking for."

Georgia Senior Catcher Melissa Wood
(on today's game) "I think it was a mixture of a hot pitcher and just our bats were a little off. We've prided ourselves on our hitting all year and we just came out a little cold. Definitely not to take credit away from Selden, she's a great pitcher."

(on playing hard and leaving it all on the field) "That's how it's got to be. You're playing one of the best programs in history. You can even see on the field all the National Championships they have. This team has experience in going to the next level and all you can do is try 100% and try to get our team there. That didn't happen this year, but I think with the young girls we have on our team, I think in the next years they are going to make it to the World Series."

UCLA Head Coach Kelly Inouye-Perez
(opening statement) "I couldn't be more proud. They've been on a mission since Fall and they've had a vision to get back to dominance, but ultimately their goal is to win a National Championship. These last two weekends were powerful steps, building momentum to do exactly that."

(on the difference between last weekend and this weekend) "I truly believe that last weekend prepared these Bruins. They're prepared for it to be hard and with that we all know that if things go the way they did for us this weekend, that it would just be a lot of fun. But if it was hard (this weekend), they were prepared and last weekend did exactly that."

UCLA Senior Pitcher Anjelica Selden
(on the games this weekend) "I feel as if I had a lot more focus this weekend. It's as simple as that. It's just better focus. It makes a difference."

(on her catcher Jennifer Schroeder) "She's great. It's always nice to have her energy out there, as you can see. She's awesome."

(on not making it to the World Series last year) "We don't like to look back at last year because this is a whole new team. This year it's been our goal to dominate and make it to the World Series, regardless of what happened last year."

UCLA Junior Catcher Jennifer Schroeder
(on Selden's pitching from last weekend to this weekend) "I don't think it's a question of being on or being off. Jelly no matter what always throws wicked pitches. It's just a matter of focus, like she said. I think we had a good game plan for each batter and it's nice having a pitcher that trusts me and trusts what I call. It makes a big difference."

UCLA Junior Second Baseman Amanda Kamekona
(on the recent hitting) "I think we have been focused a lot. People are more focused coming to the field and have plans and stick to them. And they're getting the payback. All their work is finally giving back to them."

(on her first year on the team and making it to the World Series) "It feels great. There are no words to describe it. I'm just excited and happy."
