Box Score

UCLA faced a tough Creighton defense on Saturday afternoon in Omaha, NE and lost to Bluejays, 1-0. The Bruins (9-3-2) were held to just five shots in the game, only two of which were on goal.

The first half of play showcased strong defensive efforts on both sides of the field. A shot by Creighton's Chris Schuler in the 42nd minute was cleared off the line by a Bruin defender. A few minutes later, Creighton 'keeper Brian Holt came off his line to make a big save on a shot by UCLA freshman Michael Roman, who had gotten free on a through ball.

Creighton (7-3-4) recorded the only goal of the game just four minutes after the start of the second half when a string of passes from Dion Acoff and Byron Dacy led to an Ethan Finlay put-in from five yards out. The goal was his seventh of the year and fifth game-winner of the season.

The Bruins had a few chances in the second half to equalize, but were unable to capitalize on their four shots in the half.

UCLA goalkeeper Brian Perk finished with four saves, while Holt had two.

The Bruins will end the regular season with three conference home games. First up is Oregon State on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 pm.
