Golfers Tied for Ninth Entering Final Round in South Carolina

The UCLA men's golf team was tied for ninth place after the first two rounds of the General Jim Hackler Invitational, hosted by Coastal Carolina University at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, SC.

The Bruins posted rounds of 316-293--609 (+33) and trailed first place East Tennessee State by 22 shots. ETSU, coached by Hall of Famer Fred Warren (UCLA `73), was atop the leaderboard at 587 (+11). Pepperdine was second at 590 (+14) and Wake Forest was third at 591 (+15).

UCLA senior Erik Flores and freshman Gregor Main were tied for ninth place at two-over par 147. Flores carded rounds of 77-70 and Main posted scores of 76-71. Sophomore Philip Francis was tied for 59th at 157 (+13) after scores of 82-75 and freshman Alex Shi Yup Kim was 63rd at 158 (+14) following rounds of 81-77. Senior James Lee was tied for 67th at 160 (+16) following scores of 83-77.

Wake Forest's Travis Wadkins was the leader in the clubhouse at one-under par 143 following scores of 73-70.
