Larson, U.S. Women Compete For World Championship Wednesday

UCLA signee Mattie Larson and the U.S. Women's Team will compete in the team finals of the World Gymnastics Championships on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 8 am PT. UniversalSports.com will carry a live fee-based webcast, and Universal Sports TV will broadcast the meet on a delayed basis at 5 pm PT.
At the conclusion of the meet, Universal Sports TV will air its post-meet show, "Around the Gym, presented by AT&T", featuring highlights and interviews with members of the U.S. team. Additionally, NBC will have Championships coverage on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 1-3 pm PT and Sunday, Oct. 24 from 11 am-1 pm.
The live webcasts are available at UniversalSports.com/premium for all of the final rounds for $9.99 with the code USAGYMFAN. On its official website, usagym.org/worlds, USA Gymnastics will provide enhanced coverage that will include results and exclusive photos from the competition, as well as daily video interviews. USA Gymnastics will also post event updates on its Facebook and Twitter pages and provide live team scores and rankings from each day of Team USA competition at twitter.com/USA_GymEvents.
The U.S. finished in third place after the team preliminaries and will begin final competition on the uneven bars and end on vault. Larson is scheduled to compete on floor exercise in the three-up, three-count format. The U.S. captured first place the last time the team competition was held at the World Championships, in 2007. UCLA freshman Samantha Peszek was a key contributor to the gold medal-winning team.
