
Golfers Finish Seventh at Fall Preview

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team finished in seventh place at the 2010 NCAA Fall Preview, hosted by Texas A&M at the Traditions Golf Club.
The Bruins posted a team score of 289 (+1) and had a 54-hole total of 869 (+5). Alabama won the event with record-setting performance of 16-under par, 848, followed by LSU at 850 (-14). USC placed third at 856 (-8), Duke was fourth at 860 (-4) and Georgia was fifth at even par 864. Vanderbilt placed sixth at 866 (+2).
Individually for the Bruins, junior All-American Stephanie Kono recorded her 21st career Top 20 result by tying for 13th at three-under par 213. Third-year sophomore Lee Lopez tied for 16th place at 215 (-1). Sophomore Tiffany Lua tied for 25th place at 219 (+3) and senior Glory Yang tied for 50th at 225 (+9). All four players posted a score of 73 (+1) in the final round.
Freshman Ani Gulugian had the day's best score for the Bruins. She posted a final round score of 70 (-2) to establish a collegiate best round. Gulugian climbed 13 spots on the leader board and finished in a tie for 70th.
LSU's Megan McChrystal fired a final round 65 (-7) and won medalist honors with a three-round total of 10-under par 206.
