LOS ANGELES - The sixth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team will take an undefeated record into next week's USTA/ITA National Team Indoors, as the Bruins posted a 7-0 victory over visiting Boise State on Sunday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
The most competitive part of Sunday's contest came in doubles play, as both teams split the first two matches to start things off. After UCLA's Warren Hardie and Daniel Kosakowski notched an 8-6 win at court No. 3, the Broncos answered right back with an 8-5 victory of their own at court No. 2. That left it up to UCLA's Alex Brigham and Amit Inbar to clinch the point at court No. 1, as they recorded an 8-6 victory over Damian Hume and Scott Sears to give UCLA a 1-0 lead.
Although doubles was extremely competitive, the Bruins dominated singles, as UCLA (7-0) won all six matches in straight sets. Wins by Brigham (court No. 6) and Maxime Tabatruong (court No. 3) gave UCLA a 3-0 lead. Holden Seguso clinched the win for UCLA at court No. 4, posting a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jeff Mullen.
With the loss, Boise State falls to 2-6 on the season.
UCLA begins play at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors on Friday in Seattle, Wash.
