The No.1/No.2 UCLA men's golf team captured third place at the Amer Ani Invitational in Kohala Coast, Hawaii.

The Bruins shot a final round 278 (-10) to finish with an overall tournament score of 836 (-28). They ended up finishing six strokes behind winners Oklahoma State, who posted a final round 279 (-9) and earned a score of 830 (-34) for the tournament. Texas took home second place by posting 834 (-30) while Georgia Tech earned fourth place at 844 (-20). Rounding out the top five was USC, who posted an 845 (-19).

Individually, freshman Patrick Cantlay shot a final round 65 (-7) to finish at -13 for the tournament. He finished the day in a three-way tie for the lead with Oregon's Daniel Miernicki and Texas's Bobby Hudson, which forced a playoff between the three. But in the playoff, Cantlay ultimately fell to Miernicki on the 7th playoff hole. Coming off the heels of his second round 64, Cantlay recorded seven birdies and no bogeys on the day, including four birdies in a row on holes 2-6.

As for the rest of the Bruins, junior Gregor Main and sophomore Pontus Widegren each posted a score 211 (-5) for the tournament, which was good for a tie for 17th place. Freshman Anton Arboleda tied for 41st after shooting 216 (E) for the tournament while sophomore Mario Clemens finished in 71st place at 220 (+4).

UCLA will be back on the course again on Sunday, February 13th, at the Battle of the Beach at Pelican Hill Golf Resort in Newport Beach, CA.
