Tauny Frattone Earns Second Pac-10 Special Performance Of The Week Honor

UCLA junior Tauny Frattone (Lake Forest, CA) was honored by the Pac-10 Conference for the second time this season with the Special Performance of the Week award.
Frattone won vault for the seventh consecutive meet, tying her career-high with a 9.95 after sticking her Yurchenko half on, front pike off vault. Frattone led the Bruins to a season-high vault score of 49.575, UCLA's highest vault score since scoring the same mark on Feb. 22, 2009 at Nebraska. The native of Lake Forest, Calif., leads the team with a 9.883 vault average and is ranked sixth nationally on the event. She has scored 9.9 or better on vault in four of her last five meets. Frattone also had a strong performance on balance beam, tying her career-high with a 9.85 as the last competitor of the day to help the Bruins get over 197. UCLA's team score of 197.05 was its highest away score of the year and second-highest overall this season.
The Special Performance of the Week nod is Frattone's second of her career and UCLA's 16th all-time.
Also receiving weekly honors was Arizona's Deanna Graham, who earned Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time this season.
