Primm Places Sixth In 800m At NCAA Championships

Senior Cory Primm wrapped up his collegiate career on Friday evening with a sixth-place finish in the 800m on the third day of the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, IA.
Running out of lane eight Primm moved to the outside of the pack after the first 200m to get into fifth position. At the 500m mark, he tried to make another move, but couldn't stay with the leaders and finished sixth overall in a time of 1:47.01. The senior earns USTFCCCA first-team All-America honors for his effort today.
He will continue his 2011 season in two weeks when he heads to the USATF Senior National Championships, where he will race for a spot on the World Championship team. During his senior season, Primm broke the senior class and school record when he ran 1:44.71 at Occidental last month. That time is also tied for eighth-best in the world this season.
Senior Jonathan Clark will wrap up the Bruins' competition on Saturday as he competes in the triple jump on the final day of the NCAA meet.
