Anna Li To Compete At CoverGirl Classic July 23

UCLA alumna Anna Li will compete on uneven bars and balance beam at the 2011 CoverGirl Classic, which takes place Saturday, July 23 at 7 pm CT at the UIC Pavilion on the University of Illinois-Chicago campus. The meet will be televised live on Universal Sports.
Li, from nearby Aurora, IL, now trains at Legacy Elite Gymnastics under her coaches and parents Jiani Wu and Yuejiu Li. She qualified for both the CoverGirl Classic and the VISA Championships by achieving a two-event total over 28 at the American Classic on July 1. Li won the uneven bars with a 15.15 and placed third on balance beam with a 14.0 at the Classic.
An eight-time All-American at UCLA from 2007-10, Li led the Bruins to the NCAA Championship her senior season. She scored a pair of perfect 10s on uneven bars at the 2010 Pac-10 Championships and 2010 NCAA Regionals and set additional career-highs of 9.95 on vault and floor exercise and 39.65 in the all-around in 2010. She totaled six NCAA Regional individual titles and three Pac-10 individual titles in her career.
The 2011 CoverGirl Classic will feature many of the top gymnasts in the U.S., including 2008 Olympic medalists Shawn Johnson, Alicia Sacramone and Chellsie Memmel.
