
Preview Update: Bruins Second after Round One

The fifth-ranked UCLA men's golf team was in second place after the opening round of the Ping/GolfWeek Preview at the Capital City Club in Alpharetta, GA.
The Bruins posted a team score of 282 (+2) and trailed first-place UNLV (281, +1) by a stroke. New Mexico, Georgia Tech and San Diego State were tied for third place at 287 (+7).
Individually for the Bruins, senior Pedro Figeuiredo was tied for fifth place after posting a one-under par 69. He had five birdies and four bogeys on his card Sunday. Junior Anton Arboleda and sophomores Matt Pinizzotto and Manav Shah were each tied for 11th place after carding scores of 71 (+1). Freshman Lorens Chan had the drop score, a seven-over par round of 77.
San Diego State's Tom Berry was the leader in the clubhouse after the first round, firing a 67 (-3).
