Fresno State recently captured its fourth-straight Mountain West Tournament championship to secure the program's seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The second-seeded Bulldogs downed top-seeded Colorado State, 77-68 in the title game. Fresno State's lone two seniors, Bree Farley and Taylor Thompson, combined for 49 points, with Farley putting in a MW championship game record 26 points while Thompson went for 23.

NC State's first season under new head coach Wes Moore has been a resounding success. The Wolfpack has posted a 25-7 record, a top-20 RPI rating, finished fourth in the ACC despite being picked 10th, and has spent 10 straight weeks in the AP and USA Today top-25 polls. NC State also achieved its first AP top-10 ranking since 2001 and posted four wins over AP top-20 opponents throughout the course of the season.

The 2013-14 season marks the 10th time in BYU program history that the Cougars will be competing in the NCAA Tournament and the sixth time under head 13-year head coach coach Jeff Judkins. BYU was seeded No. 2 in the West Coast Conference tournament, falling to top-seeded Gonzaga, 71-57 in the title game. The Cougars have four players averaging doubles figures in points this year led by senior center Jennifer Hamson (18.3).
