High School - Three-year volleyball and four-year golf letterman at Punahou School in Honolulu, HI … In volleyball, he was a setter on three consecutive State Championship teams and a two-time all-league and all-state selection … In golf, he played on Punahou teams that won the State Championship in 1995 and '96 and tied for the title in 1994 … In June of 1996, he won the Hawaiian State Open, the Hawaiin PGA Maxfli tournament and the Maui Invitational … His victory in the PGA Maxfli qualified him for the PGA Maxfli Jr. National Championship where he finished fourth … In August of 1996 he led the Hawaiian team to the Jr. America's Cup title and also won individual honors … As a senior in 1997, he averaged 70.2, shooting 66 twice, and winning the league individual title … Also placed third at the state tournament.
