Miles "Milo" Johnson enters his third year on the UCLA staff as an assistant coach. Johnson helped coach UCLA to the 2003 NCAA, Regional and Pac-10 Championships. In his first season, he helped lead the Bruins to Pac-10 and Regional team titles and a third-place showing at the NCAA Championships.
Johnson was an assistant coach at the University of Rhode Island from 1999-2001. In 2001, he helped the Rams qualify for the NCAA Regionals, where they placed fifth. In 2000, he helped lead Rhode Island to a second-place finish at the Atlantic-10 Championships. Johnson also coached at Northern Illinois from 1998-99 and worked with both the men's and women's programs at Radford during the 1995-96 season.
A Radford gymnast from 1992-95, Johnson set the school record on the floor exercise (9.4) in his first season. He earned his B.S. in Psychology in 1996. He also coached the boy's gymnastics team at Herndon HS in Virginia during the spring of 1991 and toured North America with the Bud Light Daredevils Traveling Acrobatic Slam Dunk Team from 1996 to 1997, performing at various NBA and NCAA basketball games.
The Reston, VA native is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and a member of the Level 7-10 coaching staff at All-Olympians Gymnastics Center.
