UCLABruins.com Relaunched
July 08, 2013 | Bruin Athletics
"We are pleased to partner with NeuLion and the Pac-12 in bringing our fans a new and improved uclabruins.com," said Liza David, UCLA Interim Sports Information Director/Director of New Media. "The new site will make it easier for our fans to follow our teams on different platforms and via our social media channels. Improving our mobile presence was a big priority, and we expect to incorporate more enhancements in the future as well."
Among the new enhancements are:
Mobile-friendly design
UCLABruins.com is now built with your mobile needs in mind and uses "responsive design", which allows automatic detection of screen size that adjusts for desktop, tablet or mobile use for easier viewing and navigation.
Social media emphasis
An Instagram wall on the main page and the individual sport pages provide additional visuals and bring you closer to the action of your favorite teams. Sport-specific Twitter feeds are also displayed on each sport page. Links to each team's Facebook and Twitter accounts are now available on the sport drop-down menus. The new social media features will eventually allow for fan customization as well as easier sharing and commenting.
Video
Fans can continue to watch Bruin videos directly on the main headline rotator, as well as inside a story article. By being part of the Pac-12's integrated digital platform, Bruin fans who receive Pac-12 Networks through their cable or satellite provider can access all seven networks via 'TV Everywhere' authentication through Pac-12.com directly from the schedule.
“For the last 12 months we have been gathering information from Pac-12 fans in order to deliver the kind of engaging experience they are looking to have with their favorite teams, universities and each other,” Pac-12 Digital Vice President/General Manager David Aufhauser said. “The creation of a unified network focused on mobile, video and social content will enable all Pac-12 athletic departments to build a deeper connection and great digital experiences for their fans.”
