
Bruins Maintain Lead at Erin Hills Intercollegiate

UCLA posted a second round score of 291 (+3) and was three shots in front of SMU. The Bruins were first at 585 (+9) and the Mustangs were second at 12-over par 588. Host Marquette was third at 594 (+18), followed by Northwestern at 596 (+20) and South Florida at 601 (+25).
Individually, senior Manav Shah and junior Lorens Chan continued to lead UCLA. Shah posted a 72 (E) and Chan carded a score of 74 (+2), and both players were tied for second place at even par 144. Senior Preston Valder posted a score of 73 (+1) and was tied for 17th at 149 (+5). Junior Jake Knapp, after carding an eight on the par 5 first hole, battled back to play the inward nine in three-under par 33 with three birdies on his last five holes. He posted an even par 72 and was tied for 23rd at 151 (+7). Junior Jonathan Garrick had the drop score, a four-over par 76, and was tied for 29th at 152 (+8).
Freshman Corey Shaun, playing as an individual, was tied for 47th place after posting a score of 79 (+7).
SMU's Bryson Dechambeau held the second round lead at 143 (-1) after signing for a score of 71 (-1).
