Golfers in a Tie for Third at Regional Challenge

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in a tie for third place after the opening round of the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge Sunday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The Bruins posted a team score of six-over par 290 and were tied with Duke, four shots off the lead. Baylor led the 16-team field with a score of 286 (+2), followed by USC at 288 (+4), Washington, Arizona and Oklahoma were tied for fifth place at 292 (+8).

Individually for the Bruins, freshmen Alison Lee and Bronte Law were tied for sixth place after recording scores of even par 71. Junior Erynne Lee and senior Ani Gulugian were tied for 28th after signing for scores of 74 (+3). Sophomore Louise Ridderstrom posted a score of 75 (+4) and was tied for 39th.

Freshman Yvonne Zheng was in 88th place after the first round.
