Bruins Take Opening Round Lead at The Farms

The Bruins posted a team score of 285 (-3) and led second-place Stanford (290, +2) by five shots. In third place was host San Diego State at 292 (+4), followed by Arizona State at 295 (+7). Top-ranked USC was fifth at 10-over par 298.
As a team, the Bruins were three-under par on the front nine and three over par on the back side, counting their drop score. Every player birdied the par 5 12th hole, and the Bruins were an aggregate 12-under par on the par 5s.
Individually for UCLA, Alison Lee fired an opening round 68 (-4) and was tied for the lead. Teammate Erynne Lee was tied for fourth with a 69 (-3). Both players recorded seven birdies on the day. Also tied for first were Emma Henrikson of San Diego State and Miami's Kailey Walsh.
Sophomore Louise Ridderstrom posted a score of 73 (+1) and was 11th. Tied for 28th were freshman Bronte Law and senior Ani Gulugian after carding scores of 75 (+3).
