Golfers Third after Two Rounds at Boilermaker Invitational

The Bruins posted a 36-hole team score of 588 (+12) and trailed frontrunner Illinois, which led the field at 581 (+5). Louisville was second at 586 (+10). In fourth place was Iowa at 591 (+15) followed by Northwestern at 592 (+16).
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Jonathan Garrick was tied for third place at one-under par 143 following rounds of 76-67. Garrick's second round featured six birdies and a bogey as he vaulted 35 spots up the leader board after the first round. Tied for fifth place at even par 144 after a pair of 72s was sophomore Lorens Chan. Senior Anton Arboleda was tied for 32nd place at six-over par 150 following a pair of 75s, and sophomore Jake Knapp was tied for 40th at 151 (+7) after posting scores of 74-77. Junior Preston Valder was tied for 53rd at nine-over par 153 after carding scores of 76-77. Junior Matt Pinizzotto, playing as an individual, was tied for 63rd place at 154 (+10) after posting scores of 76-78.
Purdue's Stuart Macdonald was the leader in the clubhouse after two rounds. He was at three-under par 141 following rounds of 71-70.
