Golfers Earn 12th Straight Trip to NCAA Championship

The dual birdies gave the Bruins sole possession of fifth place by two shots and enabled them to survive the cut at 869 (+5). UCLA was tied with TCU on the final hole before Arboleda and Chan made their clutch putts.
Top-seeded Georgia won the regional with a three-round total of 853 (-11), followed by Georgia State t 866 (+2). Vanderbilt placed third at 867 (+3) and SMU was fourth at 868 (+4). TCU was sixth at 871 (+7).
Overall, six of the eight Pac-12 teams that earned NCAA Regional berths advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championship, May 26-30 at Prarie Dunes in Hutchinson, Kan.
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Jonathan Garrick tied for 12th place at even par 216 following a score of 73 (+1) in the final round. Chan's birdie at the 18th gave him a 74 (+2) and he tied for 19th at 218 (+2). Arboleda and junior Preston Valder tied for 25th place at 220 (+4) and each player posted a 72 (E). Junior Matt Pinizzotto had the drop score of 79 (+7) and tied for 52nd at 225 (+9).
All was not lost for TCU, however, as Julien Brun advanced as an individual by winning the tournament with a score of 206 (-10). He posted a final round score of 72 (E) on Saturday.
