Behind dueling 66s from sophomores Bronte Law and Alison Lee, the Bruins posted a nine-under par team score of 279 and finished the day in a tie for second place at seven-under 569. After 36 holes, UCLA trailed first-place Arkansas at 567 (-9) and was tied with Wake Forest. North Carolina State was fourth at 572 (-4), followed by Duke at 574 (-2). Law, who was 14-under par through 72 holes at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship in Japan earlier this month, dropped six birdies without a bogey on Monday. Lee carded eight birdies and two bogeys in her round. Law was tied for second place at eight-under par 136, and Lee was tied for fourth at seven-under 137.
Junior Louise Ridderstrom carded an even par score of 72 and was tied for 31st at 146 (+2). She was three-over through 13 holes before playing the last five holes in three-under par. Senior Alison Lee posted a 75 (+3) and was tied for 64th at 151 (+7). Freshman Erin Choi recorded the drop score of 77 (+5) and was tied for 70th at 152 (+8).
Wake Forest's Sierra Sims continued her hot play, posting a second-round 68 (-4) for a 36-hole total of 133 (-11) to lead the field.
