No. 11 Women’s Golf Places Seventh at GameAbove Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The No. 11-ranked UCLA women's golf team finished seventh at the GameAbove Invitational on Tuesday, posting a three-round total of 19-over-par 883 at Rolling Hills Country Club. The Bruins climbed one spot on the final leaderboard after carding a 2-under 286 in the tournament's closing round.
Tournament host and No. 2 USC captured the inaugural GameAbove Invitational title with a commanding 22-under 842, finishing 12 strokes ahead of runner-up Texas A&M. The Trojans and Aggies were the only teams to complete the 54-hole event under par.
USC's Kylie Chong earned individual medalist honors after firing her third consecutive under-par round Tuesday, finishing the tournament at 11-under 205.
Senior Meghan Royal led the Bruins in the final round, delivering UCLA's lowest score of the event with a 4-under 68. Royal recorded five birdies against just one bogey to vault 16 spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for sixth at even-par 216. The performance marked her second top-10 finish of the season and her first this spring.
True freshman Kacey Ly also closed the tournament on a high note by carding a 1-under 71. Starting on the par-5 10th hole, Ly recovered from a challenging opening stretch that included two bogeys and a double bogey. After making the turn, she played flawless golf on the front nine, going bogey-free while recording four birdies—including three straight on holes 3 through 5. Her strong finish moved her up 12 spots into a tie for 34th at 11-over.
Junior Jennifer Seo joined Royal among the Bruins' top-20 finishers, tying for 17th at 3-over after shooting an even-par 72 in the final round.

UCLA returns to action March 23-25 at the PING/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona. The Bruins have won the event six times, the second-most in tournament history behind host Arizona State. UCLA last claimed the title in 2016 and previously captured three consecutive wins from 2010-12.

UCLA sits in eighth place at +21 (597) after two rounds of the GameAbove Invitational on Monday at Rolling Hills Country Club. Competing in an 11-team field, the Bruins improved in the afternoon round, following a 15-over 303 in the morning with a 6-over 294 in round two.
Tournament host and No. 2 USC leads the field comfortably at 13-under 563, holding a 14-stroke advantage over second-place Texas A&M heading into Tuesday's final round. USC's Kylie Chong (-7) and Bailey Shoemaker (-5) occupy the top two spots on the individual leaderboard after 36 holes.
Junior Jennifer Seo paced the Bruins through the opening day, carding rounds of 73 and 74 to finish the day 3-over par, placing her 16th individually heading into the final round.
Sophomore Jen Lee and senior Meghan Royal are close behind, both sitting tied for 22nd at 4-over. Lee produced UCLA's only under-par round of the day, firing a 1-under 71 in the second round. Her round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 15th hole, one of the Bruins' standout moments of the day.
As a team, UCLA shaved nine strokes off its morning score in the second round, giving the Bruins momentum as they look to climb the leaderboard in Tuesday's finale.
