
UCLA XC Closed Out Regular Season

FULLERTON, Calif. – The UCLA men's cross country team breezed through the competition while the women ran individually with four athletes, Friday evening at the Titan Invitational, held on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.
The men's team cruised to victory by scoring 23 points, easily out-distancing LMU with 66 points. Redshirt freshman Jackson Marshall was the top collegiate finisher with a time of 24:14.21 on the 8k course.
Sahm Bazargan was next in seventh overall with a time of 24:58.11 while Max Davis was 12th with a time of 25:29.01. Senior Jon Bazinet was 26th overall with a time of 26:01.65 while John Davies rounded out the Bruins in 50th place with a time of 26:54.95.
On the women's side, UCLA only suited up four runners as sophomore Emily Fieberling led the charge with a sixth place finish in a time of 18:18.67 on the 5k course.
Senior Kelly Brooks followed in 11th place with a time of 18:36.57 while Katie Sered was 40th in 20:01.10 and Princeton transfer Kim Mackay was 44th with a time of 20:24.82.
UCLA unattached men: Colin Burke (3rd, 24:33.65), Patrick Gleason (6th, 24:50.97), Millen Trujillo (8th, 25:03.98), Carlos Suarez (10th, 25:20.73), Arturo Sotomayor (24th, 26:00.92). Women: Jackie Garner (5th, 18:16.88).
UCLA will dive into postseason action with the Pac-12 Championships. The meet will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 and hosted by Washington State in Colfax, Wash.
