
Amick & Howe Earn All-District Honors

UCLA junior defender Michael Amick and senior midfielder Grady Howe have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization today.
This is the third-straight season Howe has landed on the Capital One Academic All-District Team and the first such honor for Amick.
In addition to his three Capital One Academic All-District Team selections, Howe was also named a first team Pac-12 All-Academic selection in each of the past two seasons. The 2014-15 UCLA Scholar Athlete of the Year, Howe was named a finalist for the Elite 89 Academic Award last year as well. The Corona Del Mar High School alum currently holds the highest cumulative GPA on the team.
So far this season, Howe has appeared in 14 games (10 starts) at midfielder, logging one assist. Primarily playing in the defensive midfielder role, Howe has contributed to all three shutouts.
Amick earned second team Pac-12 All-Academic honors last season and currently holds the second highest cumulative GPA on the team.
So far this season, Amick has appeared in 13 games (11 starts) at defender, scoring one goal. The Sunnyvale, Calif. native has contributed to all three shutouts.
The Bruins have now landed 15 players all-time on the Capital One Academic All-District Team and have produced ten selections in the last four seasons. To be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-District Team, a player must have a 3.30 GPA and above, have sophomore standing at the school and have had completed one year at the institution.
