Eight Bruins Earn All-Academic Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – Eight UCLA Men's Soccer players earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors, including two first team selections, it was announced today by the conference office.
Junior Michael Amick and senior Grady Howe were named to the first team, with junior Felix Vobejda netting second team honors. Additionally, Seyi Adekoya, Edgar Contreras, Abu Danladi, Larry Ndjock and Jordan Vale all received honorable mention designations.
This marks the third-straight season that Howe has earned Pac-12 All-Academic first team honors. The Newport Beach, Calif. native is also a three-time Capital One Academic All-District team selection, and last year was named the UCLA Scholar Athlete of the Year. A Business-Econ major, Howe holds the highest GPA on the team and was a finalist for the Elite 89 Academic Award at last year's College Cup.
Amick, a Bio-Chem major, was also a Capital One Academic All-District team selection this season. Holding the second highest GPA on the team, Amick earned Pac-12 All-Academic second team honors last season before moving up to the first team this season.
A Psychology major, Vobejda earned honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic last year before moving up to the second team this season.
Ndjock, a political science major, earns his second honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic selection of his career, while undeclared major, Adekoya, Chicano Studies major, Contreras, undeclared major, Danladi and History major, Vale, all make their first All-Academic team appearances.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
