November 25, 2015 | Men's Soccer

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior defender Michael Amick has been named to the 2015 Academic All-America third team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Amick, a Bio-Chemistry major, was also a Capital One Academic All-District team selection and Pac-12 All-Academic first team selection this season. Holding the second highest GPA on the team, Amick earned Pac-12 All-Academic second team honors last season before moving up to the first team this year.

The Sunnyvale, Calif. native appeared in 19 games (16 starts) this season for the Bruins. Amick netted one goal, his first career tally, and logged 1,262 minutes on the backline. An All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection, Amick helped UCLA secure four shutouts this season.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.30 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
