UCLA to Host Holiday Food Drive
December 12, 2015 | Men's Basketball
LOS ANGELES - The UCLA men's basketball team will host a food drive for the L.A. Regional Food Bank at its upcoming home games on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.
The UCLA women's basketball team will also host a food drive prior to its game against UC Irvine on Wednesday, Dec. 16 (7 p.m.).
Fans are encouraged to bring two non-perishable food items to exchange for one free ticket to that evening's basketball game. The food drive will begin one hour prior to tip-off and will end once the game begins.
UCLA's game against Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday, Dec. 15, begins at 6 p.m. The Bruins' home contest versus McNeese State on Tuesday, Dec. 22, will start at 8 p.m.
To redeem a free ticket, simply bring non-perishable food items to the collection boxes located outside the north or southeast entrances of Pauley Pavilion on game night. A UCLA staff member will be there to exchange the food items for a ticket. Please note, there is a limit of one ticket per person, per game.
The most needed foods include canned fruit, cereal, dry pasta, canned meats, rice, peanut butter, canned vegetables and tuna. Together, we can fight hunger and help give hope to families in Los Angeles during the holiday season.
