SEATTLE, Wash. - Freshman Johanna Grauer was impressive in relief with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings, but the ninth-ranked Bruins saw their 15-game winning streak come to an end on Monday in a 6-2 loss at #17 Washington at Husky Softball Stadium.

The Bruins fall to 29-6 overall and 5-1 in Pac-12 play, while the Huskies improve to 29-7 and 2-3 in league action.

Grauer had a 1-2-3 inning in the fifth and struck out batters in the second, fourth and sixth, giving up a run, two hits and four walks. Freshman Selina Ta'amilo (5-2) started and allowed five runs, two hits and one walk in a third of a frame.

At the plate, the Bruins had seven hits from six different players, as sophomore Delaney Spaulding recorded two hits.

For the third straight game, the Huskies scored first, but unlike Saturday and Sunday, the Bruins dug too much of a hole. A hit by pitch of Kylee Lahners, a bunt single by Kelly Burdick and a hit by pitch of Ali Aguilar loaded the bases. One out later, Casey Stangel singled to left-center to plate a pair. A walk to Trysten Melhart reloaded the bases, which was followed by a Kimberlee Souza grounder to third to bring in Aguilar with Washington's third run. Julia DePonte then homered to right-center to score three to put the home team up 6-0.

In the third, the Bruins got on the board when Spaulding belted a one-out home run to right, her team-best sixth of the season, to make it 6-1.

UCLA tacked on another run in the fourth. Freshman Kylee Perez led off with an infield single to first and junior Mysha Sataraka walked. One out later, junior Allexis Bennett reached on a fielder's choice grounder to second, as Sataraka was retired. Senior Ally Carda followed with a double to right-center to plate Perez to cut the deficit to 6-2. However, the Bruins were unable to complete the comeback this time, leaving eight on base.

The Bruins resume non-conference play on Thursday with a 3 p.m. game at CSUN.
