
Fourth-Ranked Bruins Down Utah, 7-0

Saturday was Senior Day for the Bruins' three seniors Robin Anderson, Chanelle Van Nguyen and Kaitlin Ray. Playing in their final regular-season home contest, all three seniors found success. Anderson began her day by teaming with Jennifer Brady at court No. 1, as the 19th-ranked duo downed 46th-ranked Tereza Bekerova and Margo Pletcher, 8-5. Anderson, the nation's top-ranked player, then downed Bekerova, 6-4, 6-1 at court No. 1 in singles play.
Ray, who did not play doubles, was also a straight-set singles winner on Saturday, as she downed Pletcher, 6-2, 6-2 at court No. 4.
Van Nguyen sat out of the singles lineup but made a contribution in doubles, as she and Kristin Wiley clinched the point for the Bruins at the No. 3 spot, where they downed Elena Najera-Salas and Luisa Da Rosa, 8-2.
Other singles winners for UCLA on the day were Brady (court No. 2), Catherine Harrison (court No. 3), Wiley (court No. 5) and Terri Fleming (court No. 6).
Next week's UCLA-USC showdown will take place at the Marks Tennis Stadium on the campus of USC beginning with doubles at 11:30 a.m. Singles is slated for 1:00 p.m. and can be seen live on the Pac-12 Networks.
