CORVALLIS, Ore. - The seventh-ranked Bruins left the yard three times on Saturday, as senior Ally Carda, junior Brittany Moeai and freshman Kylee Perez all homered, as UCLA extended its winning streak to eight with a 12-2 victory over Oregon State at the OSU Softball Complex.

The Bruins improve to 39-8 overall and 13-3 in Pac-12 play, while the Beavers fall to 25-21 and 5-14 in league action.

Carda improved to 21-4 in the circle, striking out five in four innings and allowing two runs, four hits and three walks. The senior struck out two in each of the first two frames. Freshman Johanna Grauer was outstanding in three innings of scoreless relief, fanning one and giving up two hits and one walk, recording a 1-2-3 frame in the sixth.

Eight different Bruins accounted for their 10 hits, as junior Allexis Bennett and sophomore Delaney Spaulding both recorded a pair of hits.

The Bruins spent 20 minutes at the plate in the top of the first and sent 10 up, scoring five times. Spaulding led off with a walk, moved to second on a sacrifice by Perez and scored on Carda's sixth homer of the season to left. UCLA then loaded the bases on walks to senior Stephany LaRosa, sophomore Gabrielle Maurice and junior Mysha Sataraka for senior Gracie Goulder, who hit a one-out single to right-center to bring in a pair to make it 4-0. Bennett followed with a slap single to first, bringing in Sataraka with UCLA's fifth run.

In the second, the Bruins added three more. Carda drew a one-out walk, LaRosa singled through the 5-6 hole and both came home on Moeai's fifth homer of the season to right-center to make it 8-0.

The Beavers struck back with a long ball of their own in their half of the second, as Hannah Akamine homered to left-center with Sammi Noland aboard to cut the home team's deficit to 8-2.

UCLA tacked on one more in the third. With one out, Spaulding doubled just inside the third-base line and moved to third on a fielding error by Mikela Manewa on the throw back in. One out later, Spaulding came home on a wild pitch to put the Bruins up 9-2.

A great defensive play by Sataraka in the bottom of the third saved a pair of runs. With third and second and one out, Akamine lined a shot to third, as Sataraka climbed the ladder to snag it and on the way down tagged Dani Gilmore to complete the double play. The Bruins turned another twin killing in the fifth. With second and first, Noland grounded one to second, as Goulder stepped on the bag for one and threw across to first to end the inning.

The Bruins posted a two-out rally in the seventh. Bennett reached on an infield single, stole second and scored on a Spaulding double to left-center to make it 10-2. Perez then launched the next pitch out to right, her third of the season, to extend the lead to 12-2.

The game ended on the Bruins' third double play of the game. With a runner on first, Christie Langlois grounded one to third, as Perez turned it to Goulder, who turned it to freshman Maddy Jelenicki to finish the win.

The Bruins and the Beavers continue their three-game series on Sunday at 12 p.m. The contest will air live on Pac-12 Networks.
