Peszek, the 2015 NCAA all-around and balance beam champion, will graduate with honors in June with a degree in Communication Studies. She earned a 4.0 and made the Dean's Honor Roll three times and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every quarter she was enrolled at UCLA. She also totaled four NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors and three Pac-12 All-Academic awards. At the 2014-15 UCLA Scholar-Athlete Banquet, she was honored with the AS2 "S.U.C.E.S.S." Award, the Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Award, named to the UCLA All-Academic Team for the third time and was a finalist for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
Athletically, Peszek leaves UCLA as one of the most accomplished gymnasts in UCLA history, having won three NCAA individual titles, including the all-around title as a senior and balance beam championships as a freshman and as a senior. She is the first UCLA gymnast ever to win multiple NCAA balance beam titles. She finished her career with 17 All-America honors, along with three NCAA, seven NCAA Regional and three Pac-12 individual titles.
Peszek is the 70th Bruin in history to earn a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and the fifth UCLA gymnast. Past gymnastics winners were Jill Andrews in 1990, Kristin Parker and Onnie Willis in 2003 and Kate Richardson in 2006.
To qualify for a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, student-athletes must excel academically and athletically, be in their final year of eligibility and plan to pursue graduate study. Student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.2 grade-point average and be outstanding citizens and excellent role models for the institution and intercollegiate athletics as a whole.
