NORTH PLAINS, ORE. - A member of the 2008 UCLA men's golf NCAA Championship team, Lucas Lee officially earned his 2015-2016 PGA TOUR card on Sunday following the WinCo Foods Portland Open.
Lee, who turned pro during his 2008 fall collegiate season, missed the cut at last weekend's tournament, but still earned plenty of points during his previous 13 outings to make the Top 25, finishing in 23rd place. He has produced three Top 10's and five Top 25's, making 11 of his 14 cuts. Lee posted second-place finishes in back-to-back weeks in June at the Greater Dallas Open and the Rust-Oleum Championship, shooting a combined 38-under in those two tournaments.
The Web.com Tour Finals, the tour's version of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, starts on Sept. 10 and continues through the Web.com Tour Championship (Oct. 1-4) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Lee will join fellow Bruins Patrick Cantlay, Kevin Chappell, Brandt Jobe, Scott McCarron, Parker McLachlin and John Merrick on the PGA TOUR.
