COSTA MESA, Calif.—UCLA's Mackenzie McDonald and Martin Redlicki captured the doubles title at the Costa Mesa Pro Classic on Saturday afternoon. The duo dropped only one set en route to the doubles final, where they took down Jean-Yves Aubone and Benjamin Lock in a third set tiebreaker.

“It always feels great to win a tournament, especially with a teammate that you'll most likely be playing with this year,” said Redlicki of winning the title with McDonald. “It's a huge confidence booster for us just knowing that we can compete at high levels and be consistent throughout the course of the entire tournament.”
The Bruin pair took the first set, 6-2, but Aubone and Lock rallied in the second to force a third set tiebreaker.
“Even though we lost the second set, we knew that we were right there on their serve every time,” said Redlicki. “Coming into the breaker we told ourselves to stay solid, make returns, make the other guys play as much as possible, and not give them any loose points. That's what we did, and it worked for us.”
Redlicki and McDonald won the tiebreaker, 10-5, taking the title and avenging their loss in last year's doubles final, when they fell in the tiebreaker to Hunter Nicholas and Junior Alexander.
