Women's Water Polo
Led by head coach Adam Krikorian and with five Bruins on the roster, Team USA romped to a 12-5 win over Italy on Friday to win Olympic gold for the second consecutive Olympic Games. Of the eight players to find the back of the net against Italy, three were Bruins. Redshirt senior Rachel Fattal led the charge with two goals while former Bruin and two-time gold medalist Courtney Mathewson netted one in the opening minutes of play. In the fourth quarter, incoming freshman Maddie Musselman rocketed a penalty shot past the Italian keeper to give Team USA an 11-4 lead.

Women's Soccer
UCLA freshman Jessie Fleming and Team Canada won Olympic bronze in women's soccer after a 2-1 victory over Brazil in the bronze medal match on Friday. Fleming played a key role in the match, setting up the decisive goal through a steal, some crafty footwork and a perfect pass to Deanne Rose, who fed Christine Sinclair for the game-winner. Fleming also blocked a potential game-tying shot in the final two minutes of play. UCLA goalkeeper coach Aline Reis did not play for the fourth-place Brazilian squad.

Women's Golf
With 18 holes remaining in the Olympic women's golf competition, Colombia's Mariajo Uribe is tied for 31st at 2-over 215. She shot a 3-over 74 in Friday's third round, making a pair of birdies and three bogeys. Italy's Giulia Sergas shot a 6-over 77 on Friday (two birdies, six bogeys, one double) and is tied for 54th overall (228, +15).

Men's Volleyball
Coach John Speraw's U.S. Men's volleyball team will play for the bronze medal after dropping a five-set decision to Italy in Friday's semifinals. It marked the sixth time the U.S. men have reached the semifinals of the Olympic competition. Four times the U.S. has come away with a medal (gold in 1984, '88, 08; and bronze in 1992). On Sunday morning, the Americans will meet the loser of tonight's second semifinal match between Brazil and Russia with the bronze medal at stake.
