Bruins T-6 After Round One in Florida

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - The Bruins finished day one of The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club in a tie for sixth place after posting a 15-over 303 on Friday.
Battling tough conditions that saw only four players in the field break par, three Bruins saw themselves in the Top 20 after round one. Senior Lorens Chan shot a 2-over 74, making birdies on the 14th and 18th to go with a pair of double bogeys. He is tied for ninth, four shots back of the individual lead of -2.
Freshmen Phil Delisi and Cole Madey are tied for 18th at 3-over (75). Madey had an eagle on the eighth to go with birdies on holes #13, #14 and #18, adding two bogeys and three doubles. Delisi made birdies on the eighth, 10th and 13th, with four bogeys and a double. Senior Jonathan Garrick shot a 7-over 79 and is tied for 54th. His lone birdie came on the eighth, as he had four bogeys and two doubles. Sophomore Corey Shaun had a non-team scoring +8 (80) and is tied for 62nd. He led the Bruins with four birdies on the first, seventh, eighth and 11th, but also had three bogeys, a double, a triple and a quad.
The Bruins begin round two on the first tee on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. ET/6:45 a.m. PT in the order of Shaun, Garrick, Delisi, Madey and Chan. Live scoring will be available here.
