STANFORD, Calif. - Senior Lorens Chan and freshman Cole Madey both shot 1-over 71's on Thursday at the Stanford Golf Course, as the Bruins are tied for 13th after one round of The Goodwin.
UCLA as a team was 12-over (292).
Chan and Madey are each tied for 28th. Starting on the 10th, Chan birdied each of his first two holes, as well as #18 and #7, also making three bogeys and a double. Madey had birdies on the 13th, 17th and ninth to go with four bogeys.
Freshman Patrick Murphy is tied for 52nd after a +3 (73). Murphy gained strokes on holes #16, #5 and #7, while making four bogeys and a double bogey. Senior Jonathan Garrick shot a 77 (+7, T-104). He made birdies on the 16th and the seventh, adding seven bogeys and a double. Sophomore transfer Tyler Collier, in his first event with the Bruins, shot 9-over (79, T-121). He made birdies on the 14th and 15th holes, while making five bogeys, a double and a quadruple bogey. Senior Reilly McMahon, playing as an individual, was +17 (87, 137th). His lone birdie was on the eighth to go with five bogeys, three doubles, a triple and a quad.
The Bruins are the initial team off the first tee on Friday at 7:30 a.m. in the order of Collier, Murphy, Chan, Madey and Garrick. McMahon tees off on the first at 12:11 p.m.
