UCLA Finishes Weekend at Clemson

The UCLA women's rowing team finished its weekend with four races at the Clemson Invitational on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C., on Sunday morning.
The Bruins' varsity eight and second varsity eight crews each finished fourth in their respective six-team races. UCLA's varsity four and second varsity four boats raced to fifth-place finishes in their six-team races.
UCLA's varsity eight finished its race with a time of 6:45.50, just 1.4 seconds behind third-place Syracuse (6:44.10) and 5.4 seconds off the pace of second-place Michigan (6:40.10). No. 3 Virginia won the race with a time of 6:34.30. The Bruins finished ahead of Pennsylvania (6:52.40) and Oklahoma (7:00.30).
The Bruins' second varsity eight raced to a fourth-place finish with a time of 6:59.00, five seconds behind third-place Syracuse (6:54.00). No. 3 Virginia finished first (6:43.30) and No. 10 Michigan was second (6:48.70). The Bruins crossed the finish line ahead of Pennsylvania (7:05.10) and Oklahoma (7:09.90).
UCLA's varsity four finished in fifth place with a time of 7:47.10, just 3.2 seconds behind fourth-place competitor Oklahoma (7:43.90). No. 3 Virginia crossed the finish line first with a time of 7:29.50 and was followed by No. 10 Michigan (7:35.70), Syracuse (7:40.60) and Oklahoma (7:43.90). Pennsylvania finished behind the Bruins, posting a final time of 8:05.90.
The Bruins' second varsity four raced to a fifth-place finish, crossing the finish line in 7:41.70. No. 10 Michigan won the race with a time of 7:19.70). Michigan was followed by No. 3 Virginia (7:20.30), Syracuse (7:36.40) and Oklahoma (7:41.50). The Bruins finished ahead of Pennsylvania (7:53.50).
UCLA's rowing team will return to action against crosstown rival USC in San Pedro, Calif., on Saturday, April 30.
