VS. ARIZONA โ€” The Bruins lead the series, 23-15-2 and have won the last four meetings.

Last season, true freshman Josh Rosen threw for 284 yards while accounting for three touchdowns in his first Pac-12 road game. UCLA turned three Arizona turnovers into touchdowns as they built a 28-point first half lead. The defense, which had lost starters Eddie Vanderdoes at defensive line, Myles Jack at linebacker and Fabian Moreau at defensive back heading into the contest, gave up an early 34-yard touchdown pass but it was all Bruins after that. UCLA quickly evened the score, cashing in on its first drive of the game, on a 35-yard dart from Rosen to Thomas Duarte. Arizona's second series ended when a snap sailed over the quarterback's hand and the Bruins recovered. On the next play, Paul Perkins scored on a 16-yard run. The Wildcats later lost another fumble and soon after Rosen found Jordan Payton for a 5-yard touchdown pass that put UCLA up 28-7 early in the second quarter. Tahaan Goodman led the team with 10 tackles.

In the last meeting in the Rose Bowl, a 2014 victory by a 17-7 score, Brett Hundley registered 189 yards passing and a season-high 131 rushing yards as UCLA bested No. 14 Arizona before over 80,000 fans. The Bruin defense limited the Wildcats to 255 total yards, including 80 on the ground, while blanking the visitors over the final three quarters. Payton caught six passes for 119 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown pass which lifted the Bruins to a 10-point cushion late in the third quarter. The scoring pass helped Hundley tie Cade McNown's career touchdown pass record of 68. Perkins, who recorded 78 yards rushing on 21 carries, became the 13th Bruin to reach the 1,000-yard milestone for a season during the contest.

UCLA captured the 2013 game in Tucson, played on Nov. 9, by a 31-26 score. That game marked Myles Jack's debut as a running back (6 carries for 120 yds). In 2012, UCLA won in the Rose Bowl by a score of 66-10 in a contest during which Johnathan Franklin became the school's all-time leading rusher and Brett Hundley passed for three scores while the Bruins compiled 611 yards of offense.

NEXT TIME OUT โ€“ UCLA will hit the road and face Pac-12 South foe Arizona State on Saturday, Oct. 8. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.
